One of the reasons I have a Facebook account is that I can interact with people all around our nation (and a couple of foreign countries). On most subjects I can see how people of other mindsets and lifestyles think and their rationale for their thinking. One of the interesting things I've discovered is that no matter what the subject, it doesn’t take long for religion to become a part of the discussion. The overwhelming majority of the time that results in the tone changing and the discussions quickly become about religion.
But here’s the thing I have found the most interesting: The “world” thinks we should keep religion out of our decisions about things. Honestly. They cannot understand why we have to “drag our religion into everything”. But my question to Christians is this: How can our religion ever be separated from our decisions? Our belief in the one true God and our following of Christ should impact everything we do; it should drive our every decision. In fact, I’ll go so far as to say that if we can overlook our relationship with Christ or not consider His teachings when we make a decision, we aren’t very good disciples. Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 5:13 (NIV): “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men”.
In all your thinking, in all your opinions, and in all your actions be the salt. The world is in desperate need of Christian values and beliefs and if you don’t stand your ground and influence our nation, who will? It’s up to you.
