Saturday, the 9th, is our annual “Lights on the Bluff”. I hope you have been inviting friends and neighbors to attend. The attendance has grown every year and it has truly become a community event. Many folks have told me that they look forward to it every year and even make it a part of their family Christmas tradition. What a wonderful way to show our community that we care for them!
As it grows, though, we need more people to work. It takes a lot of planning (thanks Meg) and a lot of preparation and take-down. Not to mention safety riders for the hay rides, Nativity volunteers, people to help in the food and drink areas. And even if you aren’t physically able to help, please try to come and hangout some….meet our community. You are the face of the church!
On a separate note, let me remind you that, beginning in January 2018, we will celebrate our 120th anniversary year. We want to make the entire year special with something each month that reminds us of our beginnings, our rich history, and our community ministries. Do you have a favorite old hymn we don’t hear much these days? Do you have any meaningful or fond memories of our past that you’d like to share? Be thinking….we want to hear from you. We’re going to have a great time with our 120th anniversary.
