A few days ago we celebrated Easter; Christ’s resurrection. Our thoughts, song’s and sermons all focused on the overwhelming significance of that singular event. Our hearts were lifted up in praise and our resolve was strengthened at the realization of Christ walking from that tomb, alive for evermore. It was an inspiring and encouraging time. But what now?
I hope you don’t let the excitement of the realization of what Easter means fade away. You see, every Sunday is a celebration of the resurrection. The early church chose that day, the first day of the week, to meet and break bread. We call it the “Lord’s Day” for a reason: It is the day that Jesus walked from the tomb. So every Sunday, though we do not have a sunrise service, we are literally gathering on that day in recognition of the resurrection.
Keep that in mind. Let you hearts be filled with awe and wonder, praise and worship, and determination. We always celebrate a risen Savior. He is as alive this Sunday as he was on Easter Sunday. His power is real, His authority is proven, His Deity is affirmed, and God’s love is evident.
Be here this Sunday with the same attitude of joy, hope, and excitement as you felt on Easter. Jesus lives!
Say something good about your Savior and about His church here in Bluff Park.
