What would happen if every Christians in the US just said “no”? If a television program reflected and endorsed un-Biblical lifestyles and choices and every Christian in America refused to watch it, would it stay on the air? If Christians didn’t shop at stores that mocked their beliefs and promoted cultural ideas that they believe were wrong would those stores still turn a profit? If every Christian voted for pro-life candidates would abortion still be legal? If Christians stopped going to movies that showed gratuitous sex and contained coarse and vulgar language would people still make those movies?
How many Christians are in the US? Recent studies say that anywhere from 76% to 83% of the population of adults claim to be Christian. Amazing. Over three-fourths of our nation claim to be followers of Christ and still TV shows that present homosexuality as normal and premarital sex as permissible are still on the air. Really?
The overwhelming majority of citizens say they are saved and we can’t pray before a ball game, have chaplains for a football team, put up a manger in front of City Hall, refuse to bake a cake celebrating gay “marriage”, or have a school holiday for Good Friday. Honestly?
How many Christians are there in the US? If you think about the importance of what you do versus what you say the following verses are kind of frightening; "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' Matthew 7:15-23 (NIV)
Stand firm. Live what you believe.
